MICHAEL JOHNSON

Joining the Tudors ahead of the 25/26 campaign from local rivals St Albans City, Michael Johnson has been a player who has vast experience playing in the National League South. Despite experiencing relegation with the Saints in the 24/25 season, Johnson contains many qualities as a goalkeeper.

Similarly to many players that Hemel has announced this season, Michael Johnson has played under both Lee and Ian Allinson and is familiar with their expectations and tactical approach. With the goalkeeper position being of importance to the team, Johnson has shown on many occasions his reliability between the sticks.

An excellent communicator and commander of his area, Johnson is a confident player when dealing with crosses into the box, as well as looking to play forward quickly, potentially proving vital in transition against teams that commit many players forward. Alongside this, Johnson has shown on many occasions his ability to save penalties, which could also prove key in cup competitions.

Heading into the 2025/26 campaign, Johnson faces competition with Steve Arnold for the starting goalkeeper position, which he will be keen to impress. His shot stopping ability and distribution will prove a key asset to the Tudors ahead of the 25/26 season.
