WELCOME TO THE TUDORS | Jake Watkiss

Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club is delighted to announce the arrival of versitile left-back Jake Watkiss!

Being a part of Watford FC's academy for all of his footballing career, Jake is looking to propel himself into men's football with the Tudors and from what we've seen in pre-season already, we're excited to see him develop!

"With Darion being out injured for the start of the season as he continues his recovery, it was important that we strengthened that position by providing cover. Ever since Jake has come through the door, myself and Lee have been particularly impressed with not just Jake's ability, but his attitude. He wants to work hard and put in the extra yards, is a smart thinker about the game and has got an infectious 'will to win'. One of the major attractions that myself and Lee liked about Jake was the fact that he is a good footballer from a point of view of his technical ability. Last season, success was sought through a fairly direct style of play, however an important part of our job - and indeed my remit - this summer was in making us better with the ball. We were arguably the best team without the ball last term, yet we want to better with it, and signing a player of the level of technical quality of Jake will definitely help. We've already seen evidence of that, with lovely delivery from the wide areas, and he looks to get forward."
