WELCOME ARCHIE! | Archie O'Brien joins on loan from QPR U21s

Hemel Hempstead Town FC is delighted to announce the arrival of young attackig midfielder Archie O'Brien who joins us on loan from QPR U21s for an initial 28-day loan.

"QPR don't often go too far wrong when it comes to young players; they are one of the best academies in the UK. Archie is a player that they signed off the back of a good spell in non-league and one that they identified as being hugely talented, and we concur with that. As we enter the final part of pre-season, myself and Lee looked at the squad we've assembled and felt we could perhaps do with another ball-player in the attacking midfield areas. We've been really impressed with how Josh [Green] and T'Sharne [Gallimore] have done so far at the base of midfield, and both George [Williams] and Mauro [Vilhete] have done well as you'd expect, but we feel that in a couple of close games we could've just done with that little more quality in unlocking a door."

"Archie is an attacking midfielder that wants to break the lines and score goals. We're lucky that we've been able to bring in a number of good attacking players, but in terms of that player that is going to arrive from deep and can pick up those clever pockets between the lines then I think we have missed a player like Archie. It's a good deal for us, and he arrives to us eager to grasp the opportunity to pick up in non-league where he left off with Hertford Town.
