The History

Tonbridge Angels were formed in 1947 and have been a staple of Kent non-league football ever since, competing across the Southern League and Isthmian League eras. They moved from the aptly named ‘Angel Ground’ to the Longmead Stadium in 1980 where they currently remain.

In recent seasons they have established themselves in the National League South, consistently competing at Step 2 following their promotion ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Manager – Alan Dunne

Former Millwall defender Alan Dunne took charge during the 2025/26 season, with prior management experience coming at Bromley where he held a variety of roles.

He began his time at the club in June 2018 as first-team coach whilst still featuring as a player for the club.

He was then promoted to assistant manager and then assistant joint-caretaker manager, making this his first role as a manager.

Captain – Scott Wagstaff

Club captain Scott Wagstaff remains a key leader for the Angels. With over 150 Football League appearances his vast experience helps lead Tonbridge continue to navigate their time in the National League South.

Beginning his footballing career at Charlton as a boy, he ended up making over 118 appearances for them, also playing for clubs such as AFC Wimbledon, Bristol City and Gillingham.

He has been a lynchpin within the team at Tonbridge since joining in 2022.

ONES TO WATCH:

Tom Leahy – Forward

Leahy has been Tonbridge’s primary attacking outlet during the season so far. He leads the way in terms of goals this season with 7.

He will need to be closely watched to ensure that Tonbridge are nullified.

Bunmi Babajide – Forward

Babajide offers pace and directness in the attacking third. Comfortable drifting wide or operating centrally, he has chipped in with important goals this season.

Notching 6 goals already this season he will be a threat to the Hemel backline.

Marcus Sablier – Midfielder

A creative presence in midfield, Sablier contributes both assists and forward momentum. His ability to pick passes between the lines and support attacking moves adds balance to Tonbridge’s shape.

He has been one of the more consistent performers across the campaign and leads the numbers in terms of assists this season.
