The History
Slough Town have become an established side in the National League South since their promotion to the division in the 2017/18. However, their history dates back to 1890, where they were originally named Slough FC, playing their matches at the Godolphin Stadium. Following their early years in the Southern Alliance and Great Western Suburban Leagues, Slough began their endeavour in the Spartan League. Slough were renamed to Slough Town following the Second World War, where they broke away to join the newly-formed Corinthian League, which they won in the 1950/51 season. During the 1980s, the Rebels were champions on two occasions, earning promotion to the Football Conference (now known as the National League). Following four seasons at Conference level, Slough experienced relegations, reaching as low as the Southern Football League Division One South & West. They also experienced progression in the FA Cup, beating Walsall on two occasions. Their 2017/18 season saw an excellent performance from the Rebels, earning promotion through the playoffs to the National League South. They continue to be an established force throughout this division today.

The Manager: Scott Davies
Scott Davies has been a member of Slough Town since 2018, joining originally as a player. However, he took the role of first team manager in 2022 and has since helped players to develop their talents at Arbour Park. In recent years, Davies has provided the platform for players including Slavi Spasov, David Ogbonna, Edon Pruti, Tyrece Dyce and Leon Chambers-Parillon to impress, resulting in these players moving up the football league pyramid. A well-respected manager, who can still pull on the Rebels’ shirt when called upon, Davies will look to sustain Slough’s National League South status and help to push the Rebels up the table.

Opening Day Result: Tonbridge Angels 0-0 Slough Town
Slough Town’s first game of the season saw them make the trip to Tonbridge Angels, in a game which saw the result end in a stalemate. However, the Rebels looked to start the season with promise after heavy spells of pressure resulted in the visitors hitting the post within 8 minutes. Slough looked to be keeping the Angels in their half well as the game progressed, as they created numerous chances. After Drakes-Thomas forced the Tonbridge goalkeeper into a good save, the home side defended resolutely to ensure that the clean sheet was kept intact.
Ones to Watch:

Name: Reiss Greenidge
Joined: June 2025
Position: Centre Back
Reiss Greenidge arrived at Slough Town in June 2025 with a good track record in the National League South, following his previous spell at Maidstone United. Operating from centre back, Greenidge is a physical and dominating presence standing at 6’6, which he has used to his advantage in his games. With spells in the National League and Football League, Greenidge has been able to adapt to his opposition, making him an important player for Slough. He joins up with his younger brother and former Tudor Jordan Greenidge as they look for a positive season this year.

Name: Johnny Goddard
Joined: June 2022
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Since joining the Rebels from St Albans City, Johnny Goddard has been a consistent player for Slough Town, with the attacking midfielder being a threatening presence to oppositions. Like Greenidge, Goddard is another player who has experience in both the National League and Football League, with appearances at Swindon Town, Stevenage, Bromley and Aldershot. Goddard has also picked up 2 appearances for the England C Team, which also shows his quality, as he looks to continue to be a thorn in the opposition throughout this season.

Name: Tyrece Dyce
Joined: May 2025
Position: Left Back
Slough Town announced the return of Tyrece Dyce ahead of this season, following one season in the National League with relegated Maidenhead United. As one of the players to progress up the pyramid following his first spell at the club, Dyce will carry a great amount of quality as the left back. Having progressed through the youth setups at West Brom and Sunderland, Dyce’s first spell at the Rebels saw him make 31 appearances and score 4 goals. Whilst he found appearances hard to come by in the National League, making just 11 last season, Dyce will look to be a consistent starter for Slough as his addition will help to bolster the backline of the Rebels.
