Opposition Focus | Dorking Wanderers

Let's get it then Tudors, another away day! This time we take on Dorking Wanderers at Meadowbank, looking to bounce back from last weekends tough defeat down in Cornwall against Truro City. Let's find out more about tomorrow afternoon's opponents, and our most recent outing which dates back to 2022...

Founded: 1999

Nickname: The Wanderers Stadium: Meadowbank Stadium Capacity: 3,000 Manager: Marc White

Almost that time again Tudors! Tomorrow afternoon we're back on our travels, as we make the trip to Surrey to face Marc White's, Dorking Wanderers. Setting out to be a thrilling matchup, The Tudors look to bounce back following recent disappointment in our 0-1 defeat against Truro City last weekend. On the other hand, tomorrow's opponents look to build on their recent 3-1 victory against recently promoted Hornchurch at Meadowbank, last weekend. When assessing Dorking's start to the season, The Wanderers currently sit right in the middle of the National League South table, after 10 games. With four wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses on the board, the 2023/24 National League side will most certainly be aiming to find some consistency, and to return where they once were.

Once a 'park' side, Dorking Wanderers have impressively climbed up the football league over the years. When formed in 1999, the club was placed into the Crawley & District League and has since secured many promotions. In 2015, The Wanderers secured promotion to Ryman Division One South, and would thrive in this new division. A play-off finish, saw the club overcome the likes of Hastings United & Corinthian Casuals. 2017/18, was an exciting time for the club. Competing in the Bostik Premier League for the first time ever, as well as moving into Meadowbank would be the start of a new chapter for The Wanderers. Following on from this exciting time, the success didn't stop there. 2018/19, would see promotion to the National League South. Three seasons in the South, would then follow with promotion to the National League, where they aim to get back to this season.

As well as being Wanderers boss, founder, owner, chairman and former player, Marc White, has been the driving force behind the success at Dorking Wanderers Football Club. Initially playing for the club when it was first formed, White has achieved 12 promotions in 23 years with the club.

As we shape up for another fixture on the road, we hope all Tudors making the journey tomorrow have a safe and enjoyable one. See you in Surrey!
