Here we go then! The FA Cup is back, and what better way to start the competition than be back home at The Focus Community Arena. An all Hertfordshire tie awaits tomorrow afternoon, as we welcome Steve Castle's Bishop's Stortford side. Let's find out more about tomorrow's opponents...

Stadium capacity: 4,525 (525 seated)

FA Cup action, is back! The Tudors go up against The Blues on the back of a 0-1 victory away at Slough Town at Arbour Park last weekend. On the other hand, Bishop's Stortford come into this cup tie, also on a run of form having won away at Hitchin Town Tuesday evening. In our most recent meeting with our Hertfordshire opponents, The Tudors ran out comfortable 0-4 winners at the RDA Stadium, as well as a 3-2 win on home turf back in the 2016/17 National League South season.
Bishop’s Stortford were founded in 1874, and became founding members of the
Hertfordshire County FA just 11 years later, in 1885. The period between 1910 and 1014
saw immense success for the Blues, as they won the Stansted & District League in the
1910-11 and 1912-13 season. Alongside this, they entered a team in the Saffron Waldon &
District League, achieving success in the 1911-12, 1912-13, and 1913-14 season. During
their history, Bishop’s Stortford were also founding members of the Delphian League in
1951, and won it in the 1954-55 campaign. The Blues have also seen success in both the
FA Cup and FA Trophy, reaching the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in the 1970-
71 season, whilst they won the FA Trophy just 10 seasons later at Wembley. Recently,
Bishop’s Stortford achieved promotion to the National League North after winning the
Southern League Premier in the 2022-23 season, lasting just a year before finishing rock
bottom at the end of last season.
Played for both: Cole Dasilva
Cole Dasilva signed for the Tudors at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign, having played
his youth football at Luton Town and Chelsea, before playing for Oxford City. After making
six appearances at the beginning of the season, Dasilva left to join Royston Town for the
remainder of the 2022-23 season. His 2023-24 campaign saw Cole represent Biggleswade
Town and Bedford Town, before the announcement that Dasilva will wear the blue for
Bishop’s Stortford this season.
We looking forward to cup action returning to The Focus Community Arena. Make sure to bring the noise tomorrow afternoon Tudors!
