This year, The National League have implemented new rules regarding youth admission at their fixtures.
Effective from the start of the 2026-27 season, any patron under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) throughout their time at the ground.
Clubs (including Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club) have a duty of care to children attending their ground, this includes:
Reducing the risk of childen becoming lost or separated.
Ensuring access to a responsible adult in the event of distress, illness or an incident.
Aligning with wider safeguarding standards used across sport and licensed venues.
An accompanied entry requirement provides a clear and consistent safeguard.
National League grounds, including The Focus Community Arena , may present challenges for young children including:
Large crowds and congestion
Standing areas and uneven surfaces
Restricted sightlines
Elevated noise and heightened emotions
Adult supervision helps ensure children receive appropriate support within these environments.
