MATCH REPORT | Hemel Town 1-3 AFC Totton
Written by Chris Wheeldon
Hemel Hempstead Town fell to a defeat against fellow strugglers AFC Totton, who grabbed their first win since early September.
Most of the action came from the first half, in particular just 14 minutes in as the visitors took the lead from Josh Simms latching on to a well placed lofted ball as he dribbled past Michael Johnson and tapped in the first. Not long after that setback Hemel Hempstead were provided a golden opportunity as Marshall Francis went down in the box and won his side a penalty. After winning the penalty himself, Francis stepped up and slotted home an equaliser just 23 minutes in.

Then just minutes after The Tudors fell behind again this time from Tony Lee, who capitalised on a mistake and slotted home The Stags second of the game. A few chances came the way of the home side before the end of the first half including a poke from Francis, which saw the ball roll towards the net before Totton’s goalkeeper Ryan
Gansey collected the unorthodox effort.
The second half saw an offensive Tudor side attempt to break down a well organised Stags defense. With some attacking changes later on into the half, Hemel looked to go all in for this equalising goal.
A failure in finding that second goal became the nail in the coffin as a misplaced pass in the midfield put Olli Godziemski through as he passed in a third for the away side with just nine minutes left on the clock. That saw out the game as the home side looked deflated in their efforts to find a way back into the match as they still search for their first home win this season.
