Discussion Points vs Tilbury

Updated: Jul 29, 2023

In the second Pre-Season game of the Tudors campaign, we were tasked with an away trip to the EMR Stadium as Brad Quinton's side looked to build on a positive first game at Home to Barnet on Saturday.

In an action packed first half in which the Tudors were dominant throughout, saw a late goal from a set piece put us 1-0 up going into the break after having the majority of the chances from either side, as the Tilbury Goalkeeper stopped efforts from the likes of Reece Grant, George Williams and Joe Iaciofano, who had a goal ruled out for offside.

The second half brought many changes as Brad Quinton looked to give out more minutes. Centre Back, Kyle Ajayi coming onto the pitch as one of these half time substitutes, after playing 90 minutes against Barnet on the weekend he looked to put another 45 minutes under his belt. A good move by Tilbury gave them a goal back in the 57th minute, causing a response by the Tudors creating a number of attacking chances. One of these chances was scored in the 78th minute making it 2-1. We later scored once again in the 85th minute through Reece Grant but was unfortunately disallowed due to a Tilbury offside trap.

In summary, the performance brought a lot of positives and gives fans a glimpse of what to look forward to for the season ahead. We thank Tilbury for hosting us and would like to wish them all the best for the upcoming season.
