Local Sport - Bovingdon CC v Lord's Taverners

If you're looking for your sport fix tomorrow (Friday) you can pop up to Bovingdon Cricket Club where they are taking on Lord's Taverners. This will take place on Bovingdon Green at 2:30pm.

Former England Captain Mike Gatting will be making an appearance and will be umpiring the game.

As this is a public green people are welcome to attend, provided that they maintain the rules in

relation to social distancing etc.

The Lord’s Taverners is a well known cricket charity that raises money to help give young people, especially those with special needs, a sporting chance. The fixture came about as the Lord’s Taverners are donating one of their famous minibuses to the Collett School in Hemel Hempstead later this year and Tom Rodwell, the Chairman of Bovingdon Cricket Club is a former National Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners. Kerry Underwood, who is Vice-Chair of Bovingdon Cricket Club (also Vice-Chair at Hemel Hempstead Town FC) is an active Lord’s Taverner and Underwoods Solicitors also sponsored the Lord’s Taverners fundraising Cape Town Tour earlier this year.”
