SUBSTITUTING MADNESS KILLS OUR EFFORT
By Bob Lovatt
Blues suffer another league defeat with substitutions every time we had the advantage with throw ins. This is hard to take in. Not football. No BRIAN. No excuses. Just reality of playing fluent football destroyed by stoppages.
If ever football is played there must be rules. But at youth level we seem to be able to make this roll on madness.
I'm not going to rant and rave at tactics out there today as the players from both teams gave us a great game. But another but is I feel somewhat robbed of at least a point this morning.
A goal a piece from RYAN and SAM E should have been enough to beat a confident WHITES side, but without our injured BRIAN we couldn't take their defenders on up the channels.
I would add that I thought the officials were 1st class today. So well done to those three.
This week we set out as 4-4-2 formation.
Looking at our results this season so far we have conceded in every game this season. Scoring is not a problem as our average is 2 per game. Our biggest worry though is conceding from open play. Once again we were outdone by a ball over PIUCH on the right. A run on and pass sees the ball fall to the Whites striker who couldn't miss from close range in the final minutes.
We did NOT deserve to lose this match. So credit to the Whites in giving us a good game of entertaining football. Fardeen caught my eye and had an exceptional game.
We seem to be losing players every couple of weeks and today found out that we are losing RYAN. I would like to wish him all the success with his new club. So we are now on the lookout for new players to see out our season. I need cover for injuries and alike. Right and left wingers and defenders,
I'm going to keep this report short as losing is not a nice feeling.
Chorleywood away this coming Sunday who got there first win of the season under there belt.
Hopefully with BRIAN back we will have more options in attack this week. We had a couple of players who were under par, but lets keep at it.
I see games that EREN controls only to be let down with a pass He can't do everything and needs options.
Slow down from the back. No rush. Then break. Defenders to far up the pitch. On a couple of occasions this week we had defenders 6 yards in the oppositions half.
Apart from losing we actually played very well. But playing well doesn't always give us what we deserve does it. When it doesn't go your way you know things you don't want to happen will happen . DREW our keeper, pulled of some stunning saves. The whites scored from a set piece. Straight from a corner, but these things happen. RYAN got us level with a well worked goal and SAM secured our second with a breakaway which he blasted past the WHITES keeper.
So as a draw beckoned and the Whites under pressure we concede a third close to time.
So here we go again boy's. Results bring togetherness and smiles. Defeat brings thoughts and stress..
So lets keep on coarse and bring a few surprises.
PIUCH, UMAH, SAM-W, SAM-E, EREN, DALEY, BILLY, OHENE, TOM, BRIAN, CORY, KANE and DREW. Enjoy.
