Following on a League Cup victory last weekend, Hemel Ladies travel to Welwyn on Sunday to face Sherrardswood Ladies.

This Sunday's fixture kicks off at 2pm at Sherrardswood School with three points separating fourth placed Hemel and eighth placed Sherrardswood in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Women's Football League Division One.

Last Sunday, 4th November, Hemel Ladies took on Sharnbrook in the League Cup at Leverstock Green. Hemel's win sets up a Quarter Final tie against the winners of Northwood and Royston. After narrowly beating Sharnbrook in the league earlier in the season, this was always likely to be a close encounter. Hemel started well with plenty of possession in the 8th minute a good passing move down the right ended in Haley following up a saved effort from Gover, but the the goal was wiped out for offside. In the 12th minute a great ball through from Turturici to McConville was slotted home to put Hemel one up. The Ladies continued to dominate the first half playing some good football and some close attempts from Hedgecock, McConville, Turturici and Gover, which the squad wondering how it was only one goal in it at half time. Seven minutes in to the second half there was yet another goal mouth scramble, from which Ross hit the post. The next 15 minutes saw the Ladies create many chances with great work down the right from Gover who was running the left back ragged. All this pressure paid off in the 70th minute when a cut back from Gover fell to Ross who knocked the ball in to the far corner. A well earned first goal for the club with a celebration to go with it. On 73 minutes Gover was booked for a late challenge then on 80 minutes a rare Sharnbrook foray in to the Hemel half saw our Ladies concede a penalty, which was scored to make it 2-1. Just one minute later McConville restored Hemels two goal advantage after more good work down the left; this was followed up two minutes later when a good ball from Hedgecock to McConville enabled Nat to complete her second hat-trick of the season. Just before the final whistle a good cross from Gover was met with an even better header from Hedgecock who made the final score 5-1. Line up: Gorin, Walters, Cripps, Manners, McConville, Turturici-Clarke, E Baker, Gover, McCay, Hedgecock, Haley, Ross,Richardson, Shaw,Amy DP, Emma EF.
