to officially announce that the following Academy players have signed 1st team forms for next season and will be joining Sammy Moore's new look squad for pre-season :
A tall and athletic defender, Joel is comfortable at either right back or in the centre of defence. He has made a handful of appearances in the Tudors 1st team last season and has impressed everyone at the Club with his attitude and ability to learn quickly. Joel won the Player's Player of the Year for the Academy squad.
A goalkeeper that has been part of the squad for over a year now, assuming the No2 role with the Tudors under three different managers. George has had a good end to last season with the Academy squad and has both time and scope for improvement in the next 12-18 months as a senior player.
An attacking player with speed and ability that can play various roles across the top end of the pitch. Alvin has a good attitude to hard work and is aware of his areas for improvement. We are looking forward to a big season for Alvin and even more goals.
The Manager's Player of the Year for the Academy group, Callum consistently displays reliability in a number of positions. He has sound technical ability, makes very good decisions with and without the ball on a consistent basis and has an excellent mentality. Callum has played at CB, defensive midfield and at right back this season - whenever the team has required this season. Callum also has his own development plan for this summer and as with the other 3 lads, fully deserves this opportunity.
Congratulations to all four Academy boys, have a good rest over the next few weeks and be ready to come back fitter than ever and maintain the hunger to succeed.
For any Year 11 or Year 12 students and aspiring footballers that as yet have no plans for the summer and September onwards for Education, why not get in touch with the Tudors Academy.
It won't be long now until the FA Youth Cup draw is made for next season, can you be a part of a group that will challenge to emulate last season's FA Youth Cup squad who made it through 4 rounds to the 1st round proper against Professional opposition ?
